Species Spotlight – Butterflies of Illinois

Doug Taron, Ph.D., Director of the Illinois Butterfly Monitoring Network, and Curator of Biology & V.P. of Research/Conservation for The Chicago Academy of Sciences and its Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, returns to the Forest Preserves of Winnebago County to delve into the world of butterflies specific to Illinois in the following sessions:
- 9:00 a.m. Introduction to the Top 25 Butterfly Species in Illinois
- 10:45 a.m. Beyond the Beginner’s Checklist
Both sessions are free and open to anyone interested in learning about butterfly identification.
Pre-register online by clicking HERE no later than Monday, March 20th if you wish to reserve a printed copy of the instructional materials at the event. Walk-ins are always welcome, though space is limited.
