Get Outside, Get Healthy! Grand Prize Winner Announced

A lucky team of adventurers has won the grand prize for participating in Forest Preserves of  Winnebago County’s Get Outside! program. On Monday, August 6, 2018 FPWC announced that the “Team Crosser”  passport was drawn to receive this year’s grand prize which includes:

  • one-year Severson Dells Nature Center family membership
  • one-year Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden family membership
  • certificate for a guided paddle trip with Rocktown Adventures, outdoor retailer and adventure club
  • gift certificate for Macktown, Atwood Homestead or The Ledges Golf Course
  • birding cap from Sand Bluff Observatory
  • award-winning nature guide books
  • FPWC backpacks
  • many more items to enhance nature explorations!

Get Outside, Get Healthy! is a passport-based back-to- nature program committed to encouraging children and families to be more physically active, and to enjoy the many outdoor opportunities in forest preserves. Participating teams earn points by having their Get Outside, Get Healthy! passports stamped for each scheduled activity they attend. GOGH offers over 45 scheduled outdoor recreation opportunities. Get Outside, Get Healthy! ran throughout June and July 201* offering activities and events including guided hikes, canoeing trips, nature study, camping, 5K fun run, golf, birding, river study, yoga, paddling trips, and more. Teams earning 20 or more points qualified for the grand prize drawings.
