Purchase of land – Tom Kalousek reported the Forest Preserve District needed a Resolution to start eminent domain proceedings against the owner of the Ace of Diamonds on Blackhawk Island, William Rader, who is requesting $250,000 for property that has been appraised for $38,000. A letter was sent to Mr. Rader offering $45,000 for the property, which the District believes is more than a fair price. The Forest Preserve District has a conflict using Guyer and Enichen for legal services as Mr. Rader is also using an attorney from Guyer and Enichen. The Forest Preserve District is requesting legal services from the State’s Attorney’s office. All members would like the Forest Preserve District to get two additional appraisals before considering eminent domain proceedings.

At 6:00 PM, the meeting returned to open session. Webster declared that no action had been taken while in closed session.
