WCFPD Receives High Marks in Risk Management

In 2013 the Winnebago County Forest Preserve achieved a Park District Risk Management Agency’s (PDRMA) award for maintaining its current Level A accreditation status for 2013. The Level A accreditation status is the highest award that can be earned through comprehensive safety and loss control review process, and is given to park districts that receive a score of 95% or higher during the tri-annual review process. An award and plaque were presented to WCFPD in recognition of excellence.

The loss control tri-annual review process is a yearlong inspection of every aspect of forest preserve district operations to ensure that the agency has established and implemented a comprehensive safety and loss prevention program. The Winnebago County Forest Preserve District has exceeded the expectations set by PDRMA and plans to further strengthen its risk management program. “The safety of our visitors, preserves and facilities is the number one priority at the Winnebago County Forest Preserve District and it is integral in our mission to provide the very best recreational opportunities to our community. We are thrilled that our dedicated staff has worked to achieve the highest level of accreditation for risk management,” says Mike Holan, executive director of the Winnebago County Forest Preserve District.
