ROLL CALL

The meeting was called to order at 5:30 PM, by President Barnard. Recording secretary Ronelle Johnson called the roll.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE     Audrey Johnson led the assemblage in the Pledge of Allegiance.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Budget – Mike Holan announced that the cuts that needed to be made for this year’s budget were approximately 5%. Steve Chapman went through the 2014-2015 Annual Budget and Appropriations Ordinance. Steve indicated that, due to the assessed valuations going down, in fiscal year 2015-2016 there will be a reduction of approximately 3.3%, and in 2016-2017 the reduction will be approximately 2.2%. The Directors went through their budgets and answered any questions the Commissioners had. The budget will be presented at the September 17 board meeting, and will then be laid over for 30 days.

Mike Holan has also prepared and distributed a five-year capital plan. This five-year plan is for projects that are not funded. The projects have been prioritized and depending on equipment needs, some projects may get moved around on the priority list.

Bus Tour on September 26 – The annual bus tour will be held on Friday, September 26. The tour will be approximately 50 miles and will include tours of maintenance shops, golf courses, and some areas where improvements will be made. The tour will begin at 9:00 am. Judy would also like to invite the legislators, and will extend invitations to them.

NEW BUSINESS

Judy would like to explore the possibility of having a legislative reception with all of the environmental groups. She would like this to possibly take place in November, possibly before the election and invite the candidates.

She would also like to have a fundraising luncheon to start raising funds for the land acquisition fund. She has asked the Commissioners to start thinking about when this should take place.

ADJOURNMENT

Meeting adjourned at 6:20 PM.

Next board meeting 5:30 PM, Wednesday, September 17, Colored Sands, Sand Bluff Bird Observatory

Respectfully Submitted,

Ronelle Johnson
