Phone System Outage Planned for Winnebago County Offices


In order to improve service, Winnebago County is upgrading its telephone system at County offices.  During this upgrade, the regular phone system will be unavailable on Monday, January 21, 2019 from 8 am to 12 midnight. This time has been selected to minimize the impact on the public due to the County’s recognition of the Marin Luther King Jr. Holiday.

Temporary phone numbers have been assigned to the effected departments listed below:

Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office: 779-548-0952

Winnebago County Corrections: 815-246-2869

Winnebago County Coroner: 815-317-6834

Winnebago County Forest Preserve: 779-901-0344

Winnebago County Health Department: 779-901-0361 – For Public Health Emergencies Only*

Animal Services East of the Rock River: 779-548-0798

Animal Services West of the Rock River: 779-548-0907

Juvenile Detention: 779-548-0928

River Bluff Nursing Home: 779-548-0913

Website and email communications will not be impacted by this upgrade.

Winnebago County Department of Information Technology Staff will be working to ensure a smooth upgrade. The phone system is expected to be fully operation on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at which time the temporary phone numbers will be discontinued. We appreciate the public’s patience during this upgrade.
